Visiting the Head


VISITING THE HEAD.

 

When visiting the “head” it is good etiquette to leave your wood on or near the mat; this also prevents the possibility of you dropping it and disturbing the “head”.

 

A visit to the “head” should at no time interfere with the possession of the rink of your opponents.

 

THE SINGLES GAME.

·

Opponents may visit the head after delivery of their third and fourth woods.

 

THE PAIRS GAME. (each player playing 4 woods)

·

The leads after delivery of their third and fourth woods.

·

The skips after delivery of their second, third and fourth wood.

 

THE TRIPLES GAME. (each player playing 3 woods)

·

At the start of each end the lead and second player will be at the mat end.

·

The leads and seconds play all their woods before changing ends with their skip.

·

The skip may call a member of their team to visit the “head” when required.

·

The skips after delivery of each of their woods.

 

FOURS / RINKS GAME.

·

At the start of each end the lead and second player will be at the mat end.

·

The third player will be at the head end with the skip.

·

The lead and seconds play all their woods before changing ends with their  thirds.

·

The thirds after delivery of their second wood.

·

The skips after delivery of each of their woods.

·

The skip may call a member of their team to visit the “head” when required.
