Here are the league standings from Wednesday’s short mat bowling.
I was not in attendance but have gleaned some information about the afternoon.
12 bowlers turned up, including one who has a love hate relationship with short mat or “obstacle bowls” as he calls it, none other than David Preston. I believe the hate part of the game was in evidence after the first game ... which was played to a killer finish (17 – 2) I leave it to you to decide who got 2 points (hint it may have been the pres.)
It would appear that the short mat bowls is attracting a worldwide audience with people liking and commenting on the facebook page from all corners of the globe. Hopefully this will translate into people closer to home trying it out. I understand that Gerard the caretaker of the hall is often seen peering through the windows watching us play, it would be nice to get him involved.

Next week is a busy week for the club, short mat at St Martial on Wednesday, the first leg of the world tour on Thursday in Chabanais, it is not too late to put your name down for that trip, and on Saturday the Annual Presentation Lunch.

If you know of anybody who would like to have a go at short mat let them know there will be a warm welcome and lots of fun to be had at our venue, every Wednesday afternoon at 1:30. If they do not have woods we should be able to provide them with woods for the afternoon.

That’s it for now, not sure what my plans are for next week due to family commitments ....

Take care, don’t forget to put your clocks back 1 hour tomorrow night ... winter is coming.

Thanks Adie
